NAQ (Nobody Asked these Questions)

Who are you?

I’m a bookworm and mild-to-moderate geek. I’m getting married to a British (as my parents would say). I thought it might be interesting to blog about it.

What’s up with the title of your blog?

See my first post. I’m more of a hobbit than an elf anyway.

Why did you start it?

I’ve been blogging for ten years now, and any time I take up a new hobby I feel an irresistible urge to start a new blog. (Weddings definitely are a hobby.) I couldn’t find that many other personal Malaysian wedding blogs. I thought it would be a useful outlet for any wedding-related wittering I feel like doing. I plan to post half a million pictures of dresses.

What’s the relevance of the ferris wheel?

Ferris wheels are important.

But what about that part where Tolkien is like: “Easterlings with axes, and Variags of Khand, Southrons in scarlet, and out of Far Harad black men like half-trolls with white eyes and red tongues.Aren’t you basically an Easterling?

I might be a Southron! Screw Tolkien and his racism — I’m not going to let him spoil my fun. My love for Middle-earth is so much bigger than him.
